NATURAL POLYIMIDE –

Natural polyimide is a thermo-set plastic that can withstand very high temperatures. It has excellent physical, electrical and chemical properties that make it an ideal plastic tube for a large variety of medical and electrical applications. Its natural amber color is translucent.

CMTi’s polyimide is produced on equipment engineered specifically for the production of large diameter seamless polyimide tubing. We can achieve tight, consistent and repeatable tolerances while maintaining low concentricity ratios.

COLORED POLYIMIDE –

Polyimide is available in a variety of colors. Typical color choices include black, carbon black, dark red, bright red and green.

Adding color to the polyimide has virtually no effect on the characteristics of the polyimide material.

FLUOROPOLYMER COMPOSITE TUBING –

CMTi’s composite tubing incorporates fluoropolymer micro powders with polyimide which provides a unique combination of properties. The fluoropolymers add lubricity to the tubing surface while maintaining many of the physical properties and bonding characteristics of the polyimide. Composite liners can be applied to the I.D., O.D. or both. Typical fluoropolymers include PTFE and FEP.

ADDITIONAL SERVICES –

Additional capabilities include: polyimide or polyimide composite coated wire. The coatings can be performed using colors, PTFE and FEP composites.
End sealing of the tube can be performed in some applications. An example of a sealed tube would be a test tube.
